　　【结构剖析】

　　主干为This alone demonstrates that....., a fact 同位语，进一步说明前面的句子。that show that out of eighty ....引导定语从句，其中又嵌套that引导的宾语从句，宾语从句的主干为no less than 50% took a loss.

　　【翻译点拔】

　　business 与world含义一致，这是关于熟词生义的考察，即为“行业，领域”的意思。out of含义比较多，“由于;缺少;凭借;在……中”，结合语境，按最后一层含义处理。took a loss亏损。

　　【参考译文】

　　仅此就足以表明，在电视行业里生存并不容易，统计数字更印证了这个事实：1989年，在80家欧洲电视网中，一半以上出现亏损。

　　【经典难句二】

　　【翻译点拔】 ill为熟词生义的考查，不能翻译为“疾病”，应处理为“诟病”或“问题”。
