这个题目在我的基础测试课上讲过 ，但是我个人感觉我没有讲的太清楚，所以今天再给大家讲一下。

词汇突破：1.at the mercy of 受到…摆布；在…之前毫无办法；

          例句：Ordinary people are at the mercy of faceless bureaucrats.

普通人的命运任凭那些平庸刻板的官僚们摆布。

          2.flood and drought 洪水和干旱

          3. do one’e bidding 按…的意愿做事；

4. fascinating 令人着迷

主干识别：强调句型：

It is A that makes the idea so fascinating. 

（这使得…理念令人着迷。）

A= humankind’s long suffering at the mercy of flood and drought 

   (人类长期受到洪水和干旱的摆布而饱受苦难)

其他成分：idea的定语of forcing the waters to do our bidding

          强迫江湖河海按我们的意愿来奔流；

参考译文：可能就是人类长期以来受到洪水和干旱的摆布而饱受苦难，因此我们就会迷恋于让江河湖海能按我们的意愿来奔流。

第一段的第三句暗示什么？（考研问暗示就是和细节题一样，作同意替换就好！）

问一句话暗示什么等于问这句话所在段落暗示什么。

所以这段话的所有句子都是线索句；不要只看这句话是什么意思。

四个选项和原文进行同意替换。但是一定要注意主题为王！

[A] people would be happy if they shut their eyes to reality

   人们如果闭上眼睛就会感到很开心；

   （根本就找不到对应的点！）

[B] the blind could be happier than the sighted

  盲人会比能看见东西的人更快乐！

   根本没有对应的点

[C] over-excited people tend to neglect vital things

  过度兴奋的人会忽略重要的事情；

  Over-excited=fascination 

  neglect vital things= giant dam projects threaten to do more harm than od

忽略重要的事情=有好几个大坝项目造成的危害比好处要大

[D] fascination makes people lose their eyesight

   迷恋会使人们丢掉他们的视力（eyesight）(就是真的眼睛瞎了，不是比喻的眼瞎！)

这个在这个语境下太滑稽了。

简单的讲ＡＢＤ都是在讲真正的视力的问题；每个get到这个语境的点；明显不符合这个语境的要求，也就是不符合主题为王的要求。

所以答案只能是C； 

还有一个比较有用的解题办法是代入法：

ABCD四个选项带到第三句的位置； 看看那个选项最符合前后句的关系。

写作例句（用于科技类）：

Perhaps it is our desire to remove human labour and enhance life quality that makes the idea of intelligent gizmos so fascinating. But to be fascinated is 

also, sometimes, to be blind. The wide use of smartphone has threatened to 

do more harm than od to some extent.
